Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using MelonNote, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using this app.

Use License

MelonNote grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for educational and personal study purposes. Under this license you may not:

• Use MelonNote for commercial purposes without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, or redistribute the app
• Use the app to violate any laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

No Account Required

MelonNote does not require you to create an account or log in. You can use all features of the app immediately after installation. Your data is stored locally on your iPhone, and you are solely responsible for:

• Backing up your device to prevent data loss
• Protecting your device with appropriate security measures
• Managing your subscription through your Apple App Store account

Subscriptions and Billing

MelonNote offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

• Free Tier: Limited to 2 notes with basic AI features
• Premium Tier: Unlimited notes, unlimited AI features, and priority support

Premium subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store and are billed according to your selected plan (monthly or yearly). All billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MelonNote to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Upload harmful or malicious content
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Spam or distribute unsolicited messages
• Interfere with the app's operation

Content Ownership

You own your content. All notes, recordings, PDFs, images, and other materials you upload or create in MelonNote remain your intellectual property. By using MelonNote, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process your content with AI to provide transcription, text extraction, and analysis
• Generate flashcards, quizzes, and summaries from your materials
• Store and sync your content across your iOS devices
• Enable the AI tutor to answer questions about your notes

This license exists solely to provide MelonNote's services to you. We do not sell, share, or use your content for any other purpose, including training AI models.

AI-Generated Content

MelonNote uses advanced artificial intelligence to provide:

• Audio transcription and text extraction from images/PDFs
• Automated generation of flashcards and quiz questions
• Intelligent summaries and key points from your notes
• AI tutor responses to your study questions

Important: While we use state-of-the-art AI technology and strive for high accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or misinterpretations. MelonNote is a study aid and should not be your sole source of information. Always:

• Verify critical information from authoritative sources
• Review transcriptions for accuracy, especially for exams
• Cross-reference AI-generated study materials with your original sources
• Use MelonNote as a complement to, not a replacement for, traditional study methods

Disclaimer

MelonNote is provided "as is" without any warranties, expressed or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall MelonNote or its suppliers be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the app, even if we have been notified of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the app immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms of Service.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms of Service on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
